Built around outcomes, not features.
My Voice First exists to help homes hear, understand, evidence and respond to children's views, wishes and feelings. Here's how each part supports that.
Hear
Multiple ways for children to communicate their views, wishes and feelings.
Understand
Structured activities help explore experiences, preferences and what matters.
Evidence
Export completed activities for your existing care records and evidence.
Respond
Show what children said and what happened as a result.

Every voice becomes a beautiful, evidence-ready document
When a child finishes an activity, their answers become a branded PDF — with their own words, their chosen accessibility mode, a 1–10 rating where they've used it, and your home's logo. It's saved on the device for staff to collect and drop straight into your recording system.
- Branded with your logo — looks like part of your home's documentation.
- Saved on the device — staff are notified to collect it; nothing is stored on our servers.
- Shows how, not just that — the child's chosen accessibility mode, rating and own words are recorded.
For children who communicate differently
Some children use signing or picture-based communication to share what they think and feel. My Voice First is built so their voice comes first — not their reading level or speech.
Sign & symbol support
Our Symbols and Read To Me modes use sign-supported visuals alongside spoken words, supporting the signing and picture-based communication your children already use.
- Familiar symbols reduce anxiety and support understanding
- Children share feelings without finding the “right” words
- Activities are spoken aloud so signing can accompany them
Picture-led communication
Picture Support and Minimal Words modes let non-verbal and early-reader children express their views independently — by tapping pictures, not typing text.
- No reading or writing needed to take part
- Tap-to-select picture choices keep the child in control
- Every child can join the same activity, their way
Virtual Buddies — to include younger children too
Pick a buddy and tap to hear them introduce themselves — in their own voice. They can support younger children in completing activities through engagement prompts, and can be toggled on or off at any time.
Young Person's Voice
Meaningful evidence of children's views, wishes and feelings
The Quality Standards expect every home to actively seek and record children's views, wishes and feelings. My Voice First helps you meet that standard in a way children actually want to take part in — turning their voices into clear, professional, evidence-ready documents.
- Captures views, wishes & feelings interactively — not a tick-box, a genuine conversation.
- Beautiful, branded PDFs drop straight into your recording system as participation evidence.
- Shows how, not just that — the child's chosen accessibility mode and words are recorded.
- Supports inspection-ready evidence — consistent, child-centred records of participation.
Feedback for a staff member
Children can share how they feel about the grown-ups in their home — what's going well and what could be better — in a gentle, picture-led way. Their feedback becomes a PDF on the device, and a manager is notified to collect and review it.
- Child-led & honest. Children pick a grown-up, then share feelings with faces and pictures — never a tick-box.
- Safe to be honest about adults. A calm way to say what's working and what isn't, without it feeling like a complaint.
- Straight to a manager. A Registered Manager or Deputy is notified to collect and review the completed feedback.

My Care & Support Plan
Children shape their own care plan — in their own words and pictures. A gentle, step-by-step way for a child to share what matters to them, who matters to them, how they feel about their daily life, and how they like to be supported.
- Child-led & comprehensive. Covers what's important, who's important, daily life, feelings, safety, independence and goals.
- Built around the child. Their views, wishes and feelings — never a tick-box. Pictures, faces and their own words.
- Evidence-ready. Becomes a branded PDF for your recording system — a genuine, child-centred care plan.

Who & what matters
Children pick the people, routines and things that matter most to them — family, friends, pets, privacy, food and more.
Feelings & support
How they feel about their care, their feelings, and exactly how they like to be supported when they're upset.
Goals & independence
What they'd like to get better at and the life skills they want to learn — cooking, money, travel, talking to adults.
More ways for children to be heard
Four new child-led activities for the moments that matter most — monthly reflection, reviews, family contact and moving on. Each one becomes a branded PDF for your recording system.

My Monthly Check-In
A gentle monthly consultation. Children share what went well, what was difficult, their achievements, worries, wishes and goals for next month — with a 1–10 rating to help them reflect.
My Review, My Say
LAC review preparation. Children say what they want discussed, who they want there and which decisions they want adults to think again about — so their review is truly theirs.
How Was My Contact?
Family-contact feedback. Children share how they felt before and after contact, what went well, and what support they need next — with a rating to capture the overall experience.
Getting Ready to Move
Transition planning. Children explore their feelings about moving, their worries, the information they need, what to take, visits and how they want to be supported.
Tailored rewards that celebrate taking part
For some children, a small reward makes the difference between staying silent and finding their voice. Your home creates its own rewards — your names, your values, your activities — to gently recognise participation and communication, never behaviour.
Completely optional
Switch rewards on or off per activity, or leave them off entirely. They are off by default.
Designed with safeguarding considerations
Rewards participation and communication — never behaviour. No gambling-style mechanics, ever.
Made by your home
Name your own rewards, choose their icon, set their rarity, and decide which activities they appear in.
How it works
When a child finishes an activity, a gentle reward may appear — a small, home-created surprise that recognises their participation. It's never the reason a child takes part, and it's never tied to behaviour.
- Your home decides which activities offer rewards.
- You name each reward, choose its icon and set how rare it is.
- Rewards appear only if your home has turned them on.
- A gentle surprise at the end — never the reason a child takes part.

- Pick an emoji or icon children will recognise
- Set rarity from Common to Very Rare
- Choose which activities each reward is eligible for
Designed with safeguarding in mind
Rewards are a gentle nudge, never pressure. They are off by default and fully controlled by your home.
- Recognise participation and communication — never behaviour
- No gambling-style or randomised mechanics
- Switch off per activity, or turn rewards off entirely
- Children never see rewards that aren't enabled
Rewards are included with your subscription — off by default, ready when you are.
